Homesync offers a unique way for you to follow content with channels. A channel is a feed with aggregated content from different sources. A channel is capable of combining feeds from Twitter, RSS feeds, and Reddit.

 

Following a Channel

To follow a new channel, follow the steps below:

1. Click Channels in your primary navigation bar
2. Click ‘Search’ in the horizontal navigation bar
3. You can search for a channel that interests you or you can follow scroll through the available channels.
4. Click ‘Follow’ to follow the channel

 

If you have a premium account, you will also begin to receive a daily email with the top posts from the channels you follow.

 

Curating a Channel (Business account only)

Creating a new channel allows other profiles to follow content you curate. Before you decide which content you’d like to be aggregated into a channel.

Creating a channel:

1. Click Channels in your primary navigation bar
2. Click Curator in the horizontal navigation bar.
3. Click the “Create Channel” button
4. Fill out the name and description fields. You can also enter a comma separated set of keywords that people can search on to find your channel.
5. Set the visibility of your channel. Public channels can be followed by anyone on homesync, private channels can only be followed by people on your team
6. Click save to create the channel

Adding Reddit feeds to a channel:

1. Click Reddit in your navigation bar
2. Click Search and search for a desired subreddit
3. After you’ve searched, click on the subreddit you wish to curate.
4. Once the subreddit feed has loaded, click the Curate button in the subreddit header
5. Select the channel you wish to have this subreddit attached to
6. Click save to attach the subreddit to your channel

The current subreddit will now be curated into the selected channel

 

Adding RSS feeds to a channel:

Before adding an RSS feed to your channel, you must first be subscribed to that RSS feed in your profile. To subscribe to an RSS feed, please follow the instructions here: How to subscribe to an RSS feed.

1. Click Channels in your primary navigation bar
2. Click Curator in the horizontal navigation bar.
3. Click the name of the channel you’d like to add an RSS feed to
4. Check the box of all the RSS feeds you’d like to add to this channel
5. Click Save

The selected RSS feeds will now be curated into the channel.
